A musical welcome in a Norfolk idyll.
The warmest of welcomes awaits you at this charming thatched Grade II listed Norfolk farmhouse.
Church Farm House occupies a place of pride directly across from St. Nicholas Church in this agricultural village. There are three guest bedrooms at Church Farm House located on the first floor: a double with a 5 ft four-poster bed; a twin room with extra long twin beds; a single room with a wider than usual single bed. All of the rooms feature ensuite showers. All three of the bedrooms are beautifully furnished with hand-painted Hindeloopen detailing and views of the village church and garden. As befits a dwelling dating back to 1570, the stairs are steep but there are excellent bannisters. The windows date from the 18th century, meaning the house is always flooded with light.
Guests are very much included in family life here and are free to use all the main communal rooms of the house. They are invited to dine with their hosts in the dining room. In winter there is a log fire in the Inglenook, making it a perfect place for pre-dinner drinks or just plain relaxing. On warmer summer evenings, drinks are often served on the patio. Church Farm House is fully licensed. The “wine with dinner” option is always available to compliment the CFH dinners.
One thing that sets Church Farm House apart is the exuberant hospitality of your hosts. Both Dick and Georgia are retired music teachers who love to cook, entertain and share their well-loved home and garden with guests. The four-course dinner, taken en famillie and served by candlelight, are a highlight of any visit. Breakfast is served either in the conservatory or in the dining room. Most guests opt for the Church Farm House breakfast, a take on the traditional full English, but whatever option you choose, there will be a fresh fruit cup to start and a meal made up of the freshest and most local ingredients.
Outside there is ample parking space for guest cars and mature gardens of about an acre, with two ponds shaded by lovely old trees. The gardens are Dick’s pride and joy and are the result of almost thirty years of tender loving care. Tulip time starts the floral season in style each year. The grounds include a patio with its gazebo covering, a free-standing gazebo and a third seating area with its sun umbrella. There are plenty of choices of place to while away long summer evenings.
The entire back section of the garden is safely enclosed to allow Benson, the resident canine host, to have an area where he can run freely and enjoy the garden. Other friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement to share the garden and house with Benson. Although this is very much an adult household, children from 14 years old are also welcome by prior arrangement. There are, however, no traditional family rooms available.

Truly Amazing Luxury Bed and Breakfast
We have stayed at several Wolsey Lodges, and they are all amazing. Church Farm House totally lived up to all our expectations for the four nights we were guests.
Dick and Georgia are first class hosts with an outstanding property that they love and cherish. We can highly recommended dining with the hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the wine, the ambiance, and the conversations with such lovely and interesting people. We were made totally welcome and thoroughly enjoyed their company, with plenty of interesting “life stories”.The cottage has so much history, quaint and very interesting. Dick has a passion for antique clocks. The gardens are outstanding, such beautiful plants and colour.
Benson the dog made us very welcome too – loved him.
Georgia made some great suggestions for pubs in the area, and we visited a few National Trust properties. We highly recommend a stay with his lovely couple in their outstanding home.
What an amazing place! We had an overnight stay, as we had a family birthday barbecue in the area…and wished we could have stayed longer. Dick and Georgia could not have been more welcoming, if they tried. Nothing was too much trouble and their home was immaculately clean and so beautifully manicured that it was an absolute joy and such a fabulous experience, to be able to stay in.
Not only are they extremely welcoming, but they are well travelled, have exquisite taste, both are great cooks, and both have entertaining stories to relate!! The rooms are very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable.
We would, and will, recommend this stunning home to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy their beautifully maintained gardens, and home, which is set in lovely countryside. They have anticipated every need and catered for their guests with superb care to detail. They made our stay very special.
Charming, beautiful cottage, peaceful surroundings.
What an amazing place to stay, felt so relaxed and welcomed into their home. Lovely charming couple, run this little gem of a B&B. Beautiful gardens to chill in after a busy day, home made bread as part of the breakfast was divine. Thank you for a lovely stay, and what a sweet dog you have, who was also very welcoming.
